Due to COVID-19 and the temporary shutdown of economic activities in Argentina, the livelihoods of both Argentines and migrant families—who represent nearly 5% of the country's total population (or about 2.2 million people—have been severely impacted.
The UN team in Argentina worked together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), World Bank, authorities and other partners to advance the coordinated response plans and to provide preventative assistance and strengthen the recovery efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
