Working together to save the lives of children with malnutrition in Northeast Syria

Today we bring you this video, "WHO partnerships to save the lives of children with malnutrition in North-East Syria," to shed light on the conditions children in Northeast Syria face. 

700,000 more children face hunger in Syria due to the country’s continuously deteriorating economy, especially in Northeast Syria. In the last 6 months, the total number of food-insecure children across the country has risen to more than 4.6 million. 

The rates of acute and chronic malnutrition in Northeast Syria are twice as much as compared to the rest of the country. In the coming two years, about 5.5 million people, including mothers and children aged 0–59 months will need direct nutrition assistance; half of them live in Northeast Syria.
